COVID-19 Faces of Migration - IOM Installs Photo Exhibition in Telavi
IOM Georgia has installed outdoor photo exhibition – “COVID-19 and Faces of Migration” in Telavi, which captures stories and hopes of migrants and their families in the times of pandemic. These stories remind us that the pandemic is borderless - people are affected regardless of their nationality, ethnicity, religion or status. COVID-19 does not discriminate and neither should we.
The exhibition that features photos and stories of migrants and their families showcasing their migration journeys and highlighting benefits they bring to their own and to host communities is installed outside Telavi Public Service Hall on April 15 and will remain available for two weeks before being moved to Kutaisi and Batumi in May.
IOM partnered with three local NGOs: Rights Georgia, Migration Centre and Green Caucasus, to identify foreign migrants open to sharing their stories. IOM also identified returnees, Georgian citizens, who benefited from IOM’s reintegration assistance and were open to discussing their COVID-19 related journeys.
The activity is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway.
