Labour Inspectors Meet Law Enforcement to Discuss Improved Cooperation
On 28-29 November IOM put together a course for 27 police investigators, prosecutors and labour inspectors under the guidance of British counter-trafficking expert Paul Holmes. Based on the cooperation agreement between the Criminal Police and the Labour Inspectorate signed in 2015, the participants discussed ways of improving coordination and exchange of information among all parties concerned when conducting labour inspections. Holmes presented details of what issues labour inspectors should be focusing on in order to recognize possible instances of labour trafficking and how to involve the police in such cases.
This course was part of IOM’s project funded by the International Bureau for Narcotics and Law Enforcement of the Department of State of the United States of America.
