UNICEF and IOM Convene to Discuss Child Protection in Georgia
On 21 November staff members of UNICEF and IOM gathered in Tbilisi to discuss the current situation in the protection of children in Georgia. The two UN agencies presented the activities they undertake to bolster child protection mechanisms implemented by the state as well as the assistance provided to individual children.
UNICEF and IOM also used the opportunity to exchange views in which areas the two organizations can enhance coordination, as part of the broader support provided by the United Nations in Georgia, and formulate joint advocacy for solidifying child protection mechanisms in Georgia.
