IOM and the Ministry of Labour Discuss Prospective Areas of Cooperation in the Field of Labour Migration
On 31 May – 1 June 2021, the IOM Mission to Georgia and the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs (MoLHSA) of Georgia and its LEPL State Employment Support Agency have organized the workshop to discuss the current issues and prospective areas of cooperation in the field of labour migration.
The representees of IOM Georgia, the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Health, Labour and Social Affairs of Georgia (MoLHSA) and the State Employment Support Agency (SESA) discussed the pending issues, plans and strategy regarding state policy on labour migration, as well as the experience in the context of interstate cooperation on labour migration. The parties also outlined the opportunities for continuing and enhancing cooperation, including support of IOM in the field of capacity building of the Labour Migration Department of the SESA.
The meeting was organized in the framework of the project – Facilitating an Integrated Operational Framework for Migrant Reintegration, Integration and Labour Migration - funded by IOM Development Fund (IDF).
