IOM Georgia Chief of Mission Meets With the Minister of Health & Social Affairs of Adjara
On June 16, IOM Georgia Chief of Mission – Sanja Celebic Lukovac met with the Minister of Health & Social Affairs of Adjara – Nino Nizharadze. The aim of the meeting was concluding IOM’s efforts in Adjara region during COVID pandemic as well as sharing future plans. Recent migration-related challenges in the region and concessions for Ukrainian citizens were also discussed during the meeting. The Minister thanked IOM Georgia representatives for implementing projects and assisting migrants in Adjara region.
The International Organization for Migration has been working on different migration-related directions for multiple years, including healthcare, labour migration and development of human resources for migrants. IOM also supports developing migration policy and studies and ensures capacity building for all migration-related structures.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers of Health & Social Affairs of Adjara and IOM representatives from Tbilisi and Batumi offices.
