IOM Georgia Launches Local Migration Governance Process in Adjara
On November 2, 2023, a working meeting was initiated by IOM Georgia with representatives from the Batumi City Hall, the government of Adjara, and the Ombudsman's Office of Georgia
The meeting acquainted the participants with the Local Migration Governance Indicators (LMGI) process starting for Batumi Municipality and launched the process. Local MGIs are based on a set of approximately 80 indicators that help city and municipal authorities to analyze existing local migration strategies and initiatives, as well as good practices and identify areas for development.
We are glad that the city of Batumi is engaged in the process of evaluating migration governance indicators which should lead the development of a migration governance profile for the Batumi City Municipality.
