IOM Georgia Organised the Training on Integrated Approach to Reintegration
On 27- 29 October 2021, IOM Georgia organised the training on Integrated Approach to Reintegration.
The representatives of the IDPs, Eco-migrants and policy division of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Health, Labour and Social Affairs of Georgia, the Agency for IDPs, Eco-migrants and Livelihoods Provision, State Employment Support Agency, Vocational Skills Agency, as well as the representatives from the four municipalities of Kakheti – Akhmeta, Kvareli, Lagodekhi and Telavi, where IOM Georgia is implementing the pilot project on sustainable reintegration and community revitalization, participated in the training.
The participants were welcomed by Ms. Sanja Celebic Lukovac, IOM Georgia Chief of Mission. The training sessions were led by the representatives of the Migrant Protection and Assistance (PMA) and Labour Mobility and Human Development (LHD) units of IOM Regional Office Vienna.
The participants were introduced to the Integrated Approach to Reintegration, taking into account different levels (individual, community, structural) and different dimensions (economic, social, psychosocial) of reintegration, key considerations for reintegration programming and discuses the links between reintegration and sustainable development, as well as mainstreaming migration into local and national development policies.
The Parties outlined the opportunities of continuing and enhancing cooperation with IOM Georgia, in the field of reintegration, to support sustainable reintegration of returnees.
The meeting was organised in the framework of the project – Facilitating an integrated operational framework for migrant reintegration, integration and labour migration - funded by IOM Development Fund (IDF).
