On March 19-20 IOM organized intercultural communication training course for the staff of Public Services Development Agency (PSDA). The training was attended by 22 employees of House of Justice branches in Tbilisi, Rustavi, Gardabani, Marneuli and Gori.

The training was facilitated by the international and national expert team – Mr. Giorgi Chkheidze and Mr. Calin Rus. During two-day training course conducted in Tbilisi, the participants received comprehensive information about migration trends, cultural differences, intercultural communication and competence, cultural profiles of migrants living in Georgia, managing intercultural conflicts and conflicts caused by unbalanced distribution of power and related migration topics. The PSDA staff will use these newly acquired skills to facilitate communication with migrants in Georgia, who they often come in contact with for various administrative procedures.

The staff actively participated in the workshop, sharing insights and experiences and seeking input. The training course will support capacity building of Public Services Development Agency (PSDA) staff, working in culturally diverse setting.

The training was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway, under IOM’s EMERGE project.
