Training for the Staff of the Labour Inspection Office of Georgia
On 6 September 2023, the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Health, Labour and Social Affairs of Georgia and IOM Georgia organized training for the staff of the Labour Inspection Office.
The training presented in detail the amendments that were introduced recently to the Law of Georgia on Labour Migration and what those entail for the responsibilities of private employment agencies. Aforementioned law changes foresee that the Labour Inspection Office will be responsible for monitoring the activities of private employment agencies and enforcing the law.
The changes to the law aim at maximum protection of the rights of Georgian citizens who seek employment abroad, and also envisage systemic registration and protection of the rights of foreign citizens who are employed in Georgia.
The training was organized in the framework of the project – “Border Management and Migration Action in Georgia (BMMAG”), funded by the Resilience Facility of the European Union
