Since April 2021 the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is implementing a pilot project, aimed at supporting voluntary return of persons with medical problems to Georgia. The project envisages voluntary return of 100 Georgian nationals (300, including their family members) from France to Georgia and targets those individuals, whose health condition requires medical support during travel and/or upon return to Georgia.
Medical assessment of the beneficiaries is conducted prior to departure, to define their needs during travel and upon return to Georgia. Further, financial assistance, allocated for these patients, will ensure coverage of their medical costs throughout 6 months after their return.
